Burlesque is the New Black

I'm Julie Valentine, a 19 year old burlesque dancer, actor and jazz singer from Alberta, Canada. This is my blog dedicated to everything in my life that is burlesque and my love of the 1920s-1950s. Though I am a new dancer, both theatre and dance have been longtime loves of mine, and here you'll find pictures, music, and videos that inspire me for costumes and set ideas, as well as information on upcoming performances (from all troupes) in southern Alberta, and occasionally elsewhere in Canada.

A lot of the stuff I post that isn't reblogged are just pictures that I've mindlessly saved onto my computer through the years, so if you see something that belongs to you, please don't hesitate to contact me and I'll give you proper credit. I'm looking to promote brilliant art, not steal it. With that in mind, I never edit photos to get rid of copyrights or watermarks, so if you see a photo of yours that has been edited, feel free to send me the proper public version and I'll replace the old one with the new one.
